10.09.2021

The UK government referred to the Media Literacy Index of OSI-Sofia to develop its new strategy to fight online disinformation as “part of the government’s national drive to combat the spread of misinformation and disinformation by giving people the skills to think critically about what they see and read online and help children navigate the internet safely.”

The announcement quotes the index findings saying that “The UK is currently tenth out of 35 European countries for media literacy rates, and the government wants to move up the table over the next three years.” The UK announcement is published here https://www.gov.uk/government/news/minister-launches-new-strategy-to-fight-online-disinformation
