Solomon (https://wearesolomon.com) and The Whole Story Publications Single Member S.A. (https://insidestory.gr), together with 11 other European media, received the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism at the European Parliament. The award is given for the investigation “Follow the Money”, dedicated to the Russian shadow fleet.
The investigation was coordinated in collaboration with media from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, revealed how Western shipowners earned over 6 billion dollars selling 230 aging tankers to Russia’s shadow fleet.
Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament said: “The Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize is testament to the inextricable link between a free press, democracy and peace. At a time when authoritarian regimes try to silence the truth and distort reality, Europe stands united behind journalists exposing corruption and all those who refuse to be silenced”.
