On 9 September 2026 in Sofia, at the Astoria Grand Hotel, Opera 1 Hall, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., an information session on the First Call for Organisational Grants under the EEA Civil Society Fund Programme in Bulgaria will be held.
The session aims to provide potential applicants with further information about the First Call for Organisational Grants, including its objectives and expected results, the eligibility and assessment criteria, and the application process.
During the second part of the meeting, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.
The Call is managed by the Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation.
The Call aims to support the strategic activities and long-term objectives of Bulgarian civil society organisations that promote democracy, the rule of law and human rights. The total budget of the Call is EUR 4,000,000. The deadline for submitting proposals is 30 September 2026.

The First Call for Organisational Grants is part of the EEA Civil Society Fund in Bulgaria, which supports the development of a vibrant and resilient civil society that protects and promotes democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
The EEA Civil Society Fund in Bulgaria has a total budget of EUR 23.46 million and is managed by a consortium led by the Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation, in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation, the Trust for Social Achievement Foundation and Frivillighet Norge/Civil Society Norway.
The Programme is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
