{"id":4938,"date":"2024-11-11T12:03:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T10:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/osis.bg\/?p=4938"},"modified":"2025-03-27T18:46:43","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T16:46:43","slug":"call-for-proposals-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/osis.bg\/?p=4938&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Call for Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Call for Proposals: Enhancing Media Resilience and Quality News Journalism<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Open Society Institute \u2013 Sofia is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals to provide grants for initiatives that enhance media resilience and promote quality news journalism in the following five countries: Bulgaria (BG), Croatia (HR), Greece (EL), Hungary (HU), and Slovenia (SL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THE OBJECTIVE OF THE CALL <\/strong>is to support independent news media in implementing initiatives aimed at: increasing their financial resilience; addressing emerging technological challenges impacting their work; fostering the development of quality journalism; counteracting the influence of populism and propaganda; and enhancing outreach to social groups vulnerable to disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WHO IS INVITED TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We invite proposals from independent news media entities in the above-listed countries working to promote democracy, pluralism, social inclusion, human rights, media literacy, intercultural dialogue, EU values and help keep decision-makers accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BASIC INFORMATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Total amount for grants under this Call:<\/strong>&nbsp;Up to EUR 1,560,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 10% of the funds will be allocated to support investigative journalism, and at least 30% will support local, regional, and community media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maximum grant per Initiative:<\/strong>&nbsp;Up to EUR 60,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiatives can last for a period of up to&nbsp;<strong>12 months<\/strong>&nbsp;and must be completed by&nbsp;<strong>May 31, 2026<\/strong>, at the latest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submission Deadline:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>April 7, 2025, by&nbsp;17:00 EET<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For detailed information, please see the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/osis.bg\/?p=5042&amp;lang=en\">APPLICATION GUIDELINES<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>INFORMATION WEBINARS FOR APPLICANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Information webinars will be held in the period from February 17 to March 21, 2025. These webinars will cover program and financial topics, as well as key media issues relevant to this Call.
